Leadership
Senior Pastor
Jerry Frye
with Karen Frye
Jerry has served as Senior Pastor since 1977. Karen teaches the Adult Sunday School, plays keyboard for the Praise & Worship team, and oversees the Work & Witness program — which produces 6,500 apple and 1,400 cherry pies every year for community outreach.
Youth Leaders
Jay & Nikki Chapman
This enthusiastic couple are deeply involved in the lives of the next generation at Eldon Nazarene. Many lives have been changed through their dedicated leadership of the youth program. Families are eagerly welcomed to join the “Eldon Family” as we grow in favor with God and man.
Caring for Others
More Than a Church
The congregation works like a close family unit with everyone caring for the other person, and the motivation to be close to God is a real element. Special attention to the needs of others is a priority here. Even non-members are taken care of dutifully. Hospital visits are frequent and community outreach is a daily consideration. Even the surrounding towns are welcomed at any and all functions.
“Our Bible groups and our Prayer Team are here for you. We will gladly take your needs to the throne in prayer.”

Our Theology
What We Believe
Holy Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, written Word of God — the supreme authority for Christian faith and life.
Grace for All
We believe God's grace reaches every person before they even seek Him, and that salvation is freely offered to all through faith in Jesus Christ.
Holy Living
We believe God calls every follower of Jesus to a life of holiness — hearts wholly devoted to loving God and neighbor.
Sent Together
We care for one another and our neighbors — hospital visits, community outreach, and daily acts of service are a way of life here. Everyone is welcome.

Our History
It was in the fall of 1920 that a holiness campaign was held in Eldon, MO by the Rev. R.T. Hodges and continued under the messages of Rev. L.W. Dodson, who was the Missouri District Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene at that time. This revival resulted in 18 of the individuals in attendance being led by the Holy Spirit, to join together as charter members to organize the Eldon Church of the Nazarene on October 17, 1920 with Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Medler serving as the first pastors of the congregation.
The town of Eldon had only been in existence for 38 years when the church began, but with a population of about 2,600 people it was apparent there were souls to reach and the inspired group wasted no time in seeking a property in which they could begin their work. God provided the perfect building they needed, a movie house right downtown on Maple Street. However simple as the building was, it would still need a change of atmosphere from being known as “The Universal Theatre”, to the new church that would now be a refuge for those that were seeking a total transformation through this holiness message.
